Vision:
Assist highway design, construction and maintenance professionals in reducing injuries and fatalities on highways in Southern New Jersey through increased education, relative to the latest safety technologies, and improved access to useful research in the field of highway safety.


Goals:

  1. Raise the local highway engineering community's awareness of the latest technologies relative to highway safety software and hardware.
  2. Create a connection among the various professionals (researchers, educators, designers, constructors, and maintenance providers) that have an impact on the future safety performance of our highways.
  3. Provide a forum for questions and discussions relative to the implementation of the latest technologies.

ADA “Did You Know?”

The official title of the current proposal is “Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in  the Public Right-of-Way”, commonly known as the “Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines” (or PROWAG).


The proposed guidelines are available for comments until February 2, 2012, extended from November 23, 2011.  There are 2 ways to submit comments, row@access-board.gov, Docket Number ATBCB 2011-04 should appear in the header or www.regulations.gov,   HINT: the first address is easier!


The Proposed Rule will apply only to newly constructed or altered portions of public rights-of-way.
